9 years ago today at 3 am I stood in the rain on my Mother's front porch in the rain watching a handsome man walking my way. Little did I know that my life would never be the same again. Yup it's been 9 years today since Jason and I first laid eyes on each other. I feel incredibly lucky.
Happy Anniversary Jas, I love ya!

Lucky me!

Jason and I a few years ago on a getaway, hopefully we will be able

to do this again very soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I just wanted to take a minute to tell my Best Friend and Sweetheart Jason just how much I love him.

Although today is a great day I can't say it's much different than any other day. Luckily I don't have to wait until Valentine's each year to know just how much I am loved. Jason is wonderful at showing and telling me each and every day. Here are just a few things I love about him.

He is an amazing provider so that I am able to stay home to raise our son.

He is truly my Best Friend and is there for me whenever I need him.

He believes in me when I do not believe in myself. Sadly this can sometimes be a full time job!

He helps with the housework. We decided early on in our marriage it wasn't going to be his chore or her chore. It's our house and we work together to get things done. No hubby to do lists here, he just seems it needs to be done and does it.

He supports me in whatever I want to do. He puts up with my crazy stamping habit and helps me out so I can teach classes in my home. Whether is watching Alex, setting up tables, cleaning or making the goodies I can always rely on him.

I love that we share our days with each other. There is something so wonderful about knowing you have someone to share your highs and your lows with.

I love how goofy he can be. I have many blackmail pictures of him being a dork. I love it! He always know how to make me laugh.

I love that he can cook and makes a mean meal.

I love how handsome he is and how I still get butterflies when I see him across the room.
He is an incredible father!! Hands down I could not ask for a better Daddy for my son.
I could go on and on about how great he is but I hope he already knows it.
I love you Jason... SYFAE Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Birthday Jas!

Well today my hubby turns... old! HA HA! jk babe you aren't old, you are still married to a 20 something year old at least for a few more years. Happy Birthday Jason! I can't imagine my life without him, he truly is my very best friend! He works hard so that I can stay home with Alex. He is my biggest cheerleader and believes in me when I don't believe in myself. He makes me laugh, occasionally frustrates me but always stands by my side no matter what.
If Alex could type he would inform you that he has the best Daddy in the whole world and I would have to agree!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart! We love you! XOXOXOXOXO

Playing Catch Up AGAIN!!

Agg... I hate when I get behind on blogging and have to play catch up. It's been awhile since I have posted. We have had a lot going on yet I have very few pictures to show for it. No excuses!
Two weeks ago Jason went to Atlanta for work. What do you do when your hubby is gone for a week. Well play, eat out, play some more and eat out some more oh and of course miss him like crazy.

Monday morning I dropped Jason off at the airport and picked up my good friend Anna-Marie from RI. She was in town for SU's leadership summit and arrived a day early so we could play. =) I took her to my favorite bakery Haggerman's for lunch, did a little shopping, chatted and finished the night at Rumbi Grill. As always it was nice to get to see her and her little boy. There was only 10 minutes of the day I did not enjoy and that was when both of our boys were in the backseat having a crying match. One would calm down just as the other one would start up. It was the longest drive to dinner I have ever had. Alex was covered in tears when I pulled into the parking lot. So sad!!! Overall it was a wonderful day getting to hang out with her. I also ran into a few other demos at the hotel and got to chat with them. As much as I love being a SAHM I miss my SAMees, they are such a great group of women.

Tuesday I did some cleaning and then I had two of my good buddies Jen and Nat over for a girls night out. We had pizza and chatted, it's always so much fun when I get to spend time with them.
Wednesday my niece Jillian and her BF Andrea came down for the day. We made binky holders and headbands and bows for the new baby. My front room was covered in ribbons and flowers and jewels etc. We had some much fun though. We hit Pei Wei for dinner before they headed home.

Speaking of Jillian, she was due yesterday and no baby as of today. =( Can you tell I am a tad bit anxious? I get to be there for the birth and can't wait to see her. Wednesday was also the 15th which meant Alex turned 17 months old.

With everything going on we have not gotten around to taking his usual 17 month pictures. I did however to sneak in this cute picture first thing that morning. Gotta love the bed head!

Thursday was supposed to be our Moms group trip to the Wee Witches festival. We had a pretty big group meeting for lunch and then shopping. I was really looking forward to it when I got two calls from friends who had gone early. I was told the place was packed, parking was nuts, having lunch at the bakery was impossible and there were people everywhere. Those who hadn't left yet cancelled out. I ended up going shopping at Target for some much needed clothing and then helped Natalie that night prep for her Super Saturday event. We have spend a few days together trying to get everything prepped. Luckily our boys play together really well.

Here are a few fun pictures of Nate and Alex playing together and a cute video. On a side note I wish I had a picture of the cutest thing that happened a few weeks ago. Nat and I were busy prepping when we turned around and found Alex laying in Gavin's lap while Gavin stroked his hair and face. It was the sweetest thing ever. I did get a quick picture on my cell phone but didn't get a chance to grab the real camera.

The boys playing clapping games and giving each other hugs.

Gavin was able to sleep through the boys running around. Don't you just want to kiss those chubby cheeks.

Nate sure knows how to make Alex giggle.

Friday I met up with my good friend Stephanie for lunch at OG and while on my way to the restaurant I called Jason to check in. Every morning that he was gone he has called me but not that day. Come to find out he had changed his flight to an earlier time to come home and surprise me. Sweet huh!! To be honest I think he was homesick for his son but I can play like it as all because of me, right? I was able to pick him up from the airport that day (originally he was going to have to take a cab) and he was home to take care of Alex instead of my niece having to tend for me. That night I had my Christmas Card Crank Class and enjoyed stamping the night away.

Saturday we decided to go to the Farnsworth Farms for their pumpkin fest. I didn't expect it to be so popular. We got in line just in time for a hayride without a super long wait and then we grabbed a free doughnut and walked around the pumpkin patch. We didn't stay for the movie but it looked like fun. Of course I brought the camera along and then left it in the car. I wasn't about to walk the mile back to the car in order to get a picture, not quite that obsessed yet I guess.
Last week was busy as well. Thursday Jason took a half day so that we could go with my family to see Body Worlds 3. If you haven't heard about it you can check out their website by clicking on the Body Worlds link. It was FABULOUS!! I was so amazed by the babies throughout the different weeks. Crazy to think I had one growing inside of me at one time. The miracle of life is fascinating.
I was also very amazed to see a smoker's lung. It was coal black... I pledge to never spoke especially after seeing what it does to your insides. Here are two pictures of statues from the show... they don't do it justice. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take my own camera into the exhibit. Looks like you will have to go yourself to really grasp how cool it is to see real humans. Yes I said real, these are all real humans that have gone through a process called plastination, where the fluids in the body are replaced with chemicals that harden and preserve the body. BTW it wasn't gory at all for those with week stomachs.

Saturday I planned a Girls Night Out with my Moms' group. Unfortunately numbers were low but that didn't stop us from having a terrific time. We had dinner at Pei Wei and then headed over to Gardner Village for their Witches' Night Out. Thanks to Natalie our amazing photographer for the evening, here are a few fun photos of that night.

Libby, Me, and Jen

Natalie attempting to use the outhouse after a few two many Diet Cokes

Libby and Natalie pose for a pictures while waiting for Jen and I.

As we were walking around we were stopped by these two guys asking if they could interview us. Being the dorks we are of course we said sure. Jen just watched since she wasn't wearing a hat. After we made complete fouls of ourselves I asked what it was for. Comcast on demand I was told. Eek... Great now we will be on tv, lucky very few people I know will have the luxury of seeing the interview. We tracked the guys down after leaving realizing that we need a blog worthy photo to remember the moment. I think they thought we were a little nuts, oh well.

Recognize this scary witch? We had to track her down and ask for a picture, we weren't the only ones requesting one. Libby happily informed us after the photo that not only was she nice but she smelled good too. Oh Libby, you crack us up!

Posing by the candy shop, we took way more photos than needed. We spent the night laughing, dancing, watching people ( oh the people you see) eating and of course shopping. Thanks girls for the fun night, thanks hubbies for watching our kiddos so we could play.

So there are my two weeks in a nutshell. Hopefully my next post will be title Great Aunt Sharie, will my sweet niece Jillian luck, we want this baby here ASAP.

Daddy's Day!

A little late but better than never right? I wanted to post a few pictures from Father's Day! We had a wonderful day down at the Gateway with Jason's family. We had lunch at CPK ( one of my favorites) and then walked around enjoying the chalk art created the day before. It was a beautiful day! I wanted to take a minute and spotlight the Daddys in my life. As many of you know Jason and I decided to name our baby after his Grandpas. They are two very different but very strong men. I hope he carries on their names with honor. So here is a little bit about Alex Roger's Grandpas.

First off my Daddy, Roger. It's strange to think that my Father has been gone more years than I actually had with him. I miss him so much! I know that Jason and him would have been best of friends. I have many found memories of my Father however two in particular come to mind. The first being the many nights I snuggled with him in bed while he watch " Rassles" that is wrestling for those of you that can't translate. As boring as I found it I loved being with my Dad and would bet on who was going to win the match. As I watched Alex last night snuggled on the couch with his Dad watching Ultimate Fighting it was like going back in the past.
The other memory that comes to mind is camping with my Dad. I remember him helping me find a roasting stick and carving it until it was just perfect. He would then set up the fire and get me roasting marshmallows while the rest of my family set up camp. My Mom would always get so mad at him for ruining my dinner.
Isn't it funny that it's not the huge things but the small moments that mean so much to me. I am glad that Alex shares many small moments with his Dad. I know that he will cherish them as much as I have.
My Daddy
The name Alex came from Jason's father Alan or Al as he goes by. I feel very blessed to have him as my FIL. He raised a wonderful son and taught him so many things that make him who he is today. At times I tease Jason but I hope that he knows that his quirks he gets from his Dad are wonderful. Al is always looking out for our family and is willing to do whatever it takes to make us happy. He was beyond thrilled that his first grand baby was born on his birthday. I don't think we will ever be able to top that gift. He adores Alex and loves to spend time with him and watch him grow. I am very grateful that Alex has his Grandpa Al in his life.
Al at our Chinese wedding banquet 5 years ago. Do I really not have a more recent picture.. I have to somewhere don't I?
I saved the TOP POP for last. Jason is an amazing dad!! I knew he was great with kids but honestly I had no clue just what a great Daddy he would be. Alex runs to the gate at the top of the stairs when he hears the garage door open and me singing...
" We're so glad when Daddy comes home, glad as we can be. Clap our hands and shout for joy and climb upon his knee. Put our arms around his neck, hug him tight like this. Grab his cheeks and give him what? A great big kiss... Mmma!"
Just a few reasons why Alex this his dad is the TOP POP.
1- He changes diapers.. yup even poopy ones.
2- He gets up with Alex in the middle of the night just as much as me if not more. I tend to loose it with Alex at 3 am and Jason is calm and patient.
3- He shares his food with Alex. He even takes bites of soggy food Alex feeds him.
4- He washes clothes including Alex's poopy outfits.
5-He makes special meals for Alex. Just this morning I came home to find the two of them sharing scrambled eggs ( Alex's first). Now I know it would have been easier to feed Alex something simple like baby food but Jason was willing to go all out for his buddy.
6-He plays for hours with Alex, teaching him, tickling him and making him smile.
7-He gives me a break and allows me to take nights off to hang out with the girls while he stays home with Alex.
8-He doesn't freak out if I need him to pick up dinner or if the house isn't in tip top shape when he gets home.
9-He watches out for our family's safety. Whether is checking the doors and windows at night, wiping down toys, shopping carts etc. for germs. Jason always has our safety in mind.
10-He adores Alex and reminds me often of how lucky we are to have him in our life.
I could go on for hours. I love you Jason and appreciate the type of Father you are. I know that you are one of few " TOP POPs" and I feel very blessed to have found you. Happy Daddy's Day to all the Dads out there.

5 years today & 911

Strange title huh? Well first off today is Jason and I's 5 year wedding anniversary. I feel very grateful to have my best friend by my side each day. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father. Last night ( I guess 3 am is this morning) I lay in bed with Jason and Alex. I remembered back to our wedding day and the beginning of our life together. I didn't know what the future would hold but I knew it was bound to be great. Now we have the cutest son anyone could ask for. I feel extremely blessed! Happy Anniversary sweetie!

One of our many engagement photos

Speaking of cute sons... here is a small recap of my day yesterday. So I talk to my mom on the cordless, after hanging up I let Alex play with the phone. This is nothing new I just make sure I watch him so that he doesn't call anyone. Well I guess I wasn't watching well enough. He made a quick call then dropped the phone. He was getting grumpy so I knew it was nap time. I took him upstairs, tucked him in then hung out on the computer for a few minutes before going up to shower. While sitting there I hear my doorbell ring. This is nothing new since we often get solicitors at our door. I couldn't see who it was so I didn't bother answering it. Then I heard a loud banging on my door and looked out again to find a Draper Cop on my doorstep looking up at the windows. Being dressed in less than appropriate attired I ran upstairs and threw on some clothes and went downstairs to get the door. The cop was looking around my house as I greeted him with a terrified look on my face.

I was guessing our neighbors had called the cops on us because we had left Alex cry ( scream) himself to sleep between 4-4:30 that morning after nothing else would work. Well come to find out that wasn't the case. My dear sweet baby had made a call to 911 and then left the phone off the hook. The cop said he was getting very worried when he wasn't able to reach anyone. I apologized up and down and then went back inside to call Jason with my story. Let's just say Alex will NOT be using the phone again anytime soon. I finally can say I understand how you feel Mollie. ;)

My cousin Jes took this photo a while back. Isn't it so precious? To think this boy could cause his mother so much trauma.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

What a lucky day! I met my honey 8 years ago today. It was crazy how instantly I felt we were meant to be. I thought for sure he was too good to be true. Eight years later he is still my best friend by my side through thick and thin and to celebrate this year our luck has added Alex. I truly feel blessed beyond words. Happy St. Patty's Day Jas, I love you! SYFAE

This picture was taken in Moab a month before our wedding. I kept reminding our friend Nate to drive careful because we had a wedding to attend in a month.

We were a month pregnant here and didn't even know it. I know I have posted this picture before but it's one of my favorites. It was taken at our friends Heidi and Howard's wedding in Cali.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The day of love, a day full of snow too! Happy Valentine's Day! I feel very lucky to have two very special Valentines this year. Alex has learned a few new tricks to keep Mom and
Dad entertained. He is learning to wave bye bye, gargle with his spit and rock back and forth on his knees. Anyday I think he will be crawling. We also play a new game where I will kiss his nose and then he will kiss mine back, it's so cute. Knock on wood, he has also been sleeping through the night but I will try and not to jinx that.

My little Valentine Alex!

Happy Birthday Honey!

Today is my sweethearts 31st birthday, Happy Birthday JC! I feel so blessed to have Jason as my best friend, soul mate, lover, husband, protector, provider and father to my son. He is not only an amazing husband but he is also a terrific Dad. We have been together 7 1/2 years and married 4 1/2. My love for him continues to grow with each new opportunity, trial and experience we face. He has been my rock and I can't imagine being with anyone else. I love you Jas!

Jason took today off so that we could spend the day together as a family. For now he is sleeping ( one of his favorite things to do) and I am up trying to get Alex to go back down for a nap. We plan on hanging out at home for a bit and then going to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. While we are out we hope to finish up our Christmas shopping. Only a week to go... SCARY! I hope you are having a terrific Monday! Off to spend time with my boys.

Happy Birthday Jason!

This picture was taken at a lunch we had with our friends right after we came home from our honeymoon. I had to include this picture because Jason is smiling, not something he normally does for pictures. He also has more hair, sorry honey it comes with age.

Here is a self portrait of us after taking a 2nd test confirming we would be parents. Jason doesn't look thrilled here but he was. He loves being a Dad.

Here are the two of us in California and our friends' Howie and Heidi's wedding. We were a month along here and didn't know it. Okay so I suspected it but Jas thought I was getting my hopes up.

Jason and his best buddy Alex. What is up with that smile?

The love of my life

So usually I write about Alex however today I thought I would mix things up a bit and write about the first love of my life, Jason. I was watching Oprah today and it was on love stories. She shared a story of a couple who has written love letters daily to each other for over 20 years. I was very impressed! It got me thinking about what I would write if Jason and I were to do that. I have so much to express about how I feel about Jason. Now we may not write love letters daily but we do find ways to show our love for each other. I feel like I am more in love with him today that I was 7+ years ago when we first met. I pulled up some e-mails Jason sent me when we first met. WOW, it was incredible how fast we fell in love. Boy was he whopped! =)

So before I go send some quality time with Jason I wanted to share 10 things I love about him in no particular order.

1-I love his positive can do attitude and how he always seem to find a way to get things done.

2-I love his cooking! I can only recall one bad meal he has made for me. Let's just say if a pancake mix doesn't call for buttermilk than don't get a hairbrain idea to add it.

3-I love his dark eyes and how his eyelashes are straight and seem to cover up his eye.

4-I love his touch, his hugs, kisses and well everything about him as a physical person. When I am sick, just his touch can make me feel better.

5-I love how he goes out of his way to help make my life easier. Whether it's running my bath when I was pregant, getting up with our son in the morning so I can sleep in or helping me set up for a SU! class, he is always there for me.

6-I love him as a Dad. I am amazed each day at his love for Alex and how he expresses it. He is so proud of his son. I fell in love with him all over again when Alex as born. It's amazing! I am constantly telling Alex, we have the best daddy ever, we are so lucky!!

7- I love his crazy quirks, sadly I can't mention any of them here but let's just say he is all boy and proud to be gross, crude etc. Usually they annoy me however he wouldn't be Jason if he wasn't doing something boyish.

8- I love how protective he is over me and our family. He may be a little anal about things but it makes me secure. He is always looking out for our safety and well being.

9- I love how he treats my family. Now if you know my family, we are pretty crazy to say the least. He deals with our craziness. He is there for my mom when she needs something and is great with my nieces and nephew.

10- Last but not least I love Jason for not only who he is but who I am because of him. I love ya Jas!! SYFAE

A few pictures of us through the years.

This is one of our engagement pictures, I love it because it shows our playful side.

This is a picture of the two of us in California at our Chinese wedding dinner.

This one was taken by us on one of our overnight trips. I believe this was our 3rd anniversary.
This pictures was taken at my friend Stephanie's wedding.

This one was taken 2 years ago during our family pictures.
