Camping?

It's Monday morning and I have a to do list a mile long of stuff that needs to be done at home. I am grateful though that I can enjoy the crisp morning breeze in my PJs knowing I will be home all day with my boy. Life is good!!

I had a awesome weekend well besides my toe issue! I was able to go shopping at Oh Sweet Sadie with friends ( two different days) and bought myself a fun ribbon dispenser. I had Indian food with Jason, did errands and ended the weekend with a trip to the mountains.

Thank you to Laura for a little inspiration our family headed up to Little Cottonwood Canyon yesterday afternoon to enjoy the fall colors. We packed up our new car.. have I mentioned I am LOVING IT... anyway we packed the car with our little portable grill and goodies for dinner. We had salad, drinks, chips, hot dogs, cookies and of course smores. It was a perfect day to enjoy the mountains together. Alex although a little grumpy had a good time getting dirty. I think we will go again before it's too late. Anyone up for coming along?

This was Alex about 5 minutes after we arrived to the campground. He was running full speed and biffed it. He even got dirt in his ear.
How cute this this picture?
What a strange look on my face and a mouthful of cookies for Alex.
I love my buddy!
Going for a walk with Daddy, I love this picture!
Daddy found a stick for Alex, he was thrilled.
He thought he was so big with his stick.

A closeup through the branches of a tree

Jason's attempt at a smile or so he told me.

Alex sat in his stroller while we ate dinner. He kept pulling this face when he would hear a car go by. He was cracking us up.

ahhh smores.. I love them! Sadly I was making my 2nd
smore when our propane tank died.

P.S. Thanks for everyone's concerns about my toe. It is doing much better. The coloring has changed and the swelling has gone down. It's still sore though. It looks more like a nasty birth mark now, I spared you a new photo. =)

Our Weekend

How long should it take to change one diaper if two people are tag teaming? A minute or two right, well not at this house. It took Jason and I almost 30 minutes to get a diaper ( the 2nd one, I ripped the 1st) on Alex tonight. What a little stinker! He refused to stay on his back. I am still not sure how well the diaper is on but I guess it will have to work. That was the end of our crazy busy weekend. Here is what we did the rest of the weekend.

I picked up my niece Shae around 4:30 on Friday so she could have a sleepover at our house. We headed to Michaels to pick up stuff for her class and family Valentines & Valentine box. We then went to Harmons to do my weekly grocery shopping.

We met Jason at home where we made individual pizzas for dinner. Then we worked on Shae's class and family Valentines and made her Valentines box. By then it was late so we decided to put off valentine cookies until Saturday. While Shae cuddle on the couch with Jason I mixed up our frosting. Then Shae insisted we go up to our bed to cuddle and watch Bernstein Bears before going to bed.

Alex slept all night and woke us up at 7:45. We got up and I made Shae's request of almond poppy seed muffins for breakfast. After we put Alex down for a nap we baked and decorated valentine cookies. For all you locals I would highly recommend Harmons homemade sugar cookie dough. It's so yummy and worth the time it would have taken for me to mix up my own.

After getting ready and having lunch Shae, Alex and I headed up to my Mom's in Layton. The kids slept most of the way up so it was very peaceful. I dropped Shae off at my Mom's and headed over to my friend TyAnne's baby shower. She is my old college roommate. She is such a sweetheart; I am so excited for her. It was nice to see her and my childhood best friend Laura.

After the shower I went to dinner at Sizzler with my Mom, Sister and her girls. I don't go there often so having the cheese bread was a treat. The ride home was very long. Alex scream all the way home until we got off the exit then he fall asleep. I tried his binkey a few times, my cell phone music which usually helps but nothing worked. Jason met me in the garage and freaked out when he opened the door. Alex was drenched in sweat. Now don't think I am horrible mom, the heat wasn't on and he was cover with a blanket because of us going outside. Honestly I think he had a fever from teething because he had been drooling like a faucet all day and had a running nose. We had to give him a shower and wash his car seat cover ( it was wet too). I felt like a horrible mother!!!

Alex got up once last night and then slept in until 9:30 this morning it was nice. We met Jason's family for lunch at Goodwood BBQ and did a few errands.

What a weekend!! Is it bedtime yet?

Here are some pictures of buddies Alex and Shae together this weekend.

Our Weekend

I hope you are having good weekend, overall we have. Friday I had a SU! holiday SAS at my house. What could be more fun then a bunch of crazy women stampin'?

Saturday we cleaned , hung out, went to dinner with some friends to Rumbi Grill and grocery shopping after. Dinner was fun as always with the Whites, we really enjoy their company even if it means we now have three kids to bring along. That is almost one child per adult. CRAZY!! I had to laugh because most of our dinner conversation revolved around our kids. Whether it was about sleeping, pooping, eating, crawling etc. it had to do with our children. Our whole life now is about our kids. It's nice to know friends who are as kid focused as we are.

Today is Sunday, not sure what are plans are exactly. Jason may have to go into work for a few hours. My cousin Jes is in town from Cali so we will be going to dinner at my Aunt Sheila's house for dinner for sure. It's always a good meal and good company when you go over there. It is also supposed to storm today. I am thinking it's a good day for baking. I have an almond poppy sead cookie recipe I am dying to try out. Do you have any good cookie recipes to share with me?

Oh and to top this weekend off Alex has napped in his crib a few times and got up just once the past few nights. FABULOUS!! Have I mentioned I love sleep?

Before I go I wanted to share one last thing. Alex was hanging out on his blanket in the den the other day while I was working on the computer. He went from on his back to his belly, what a crazy kid. I sure love him!

This is how I found him when I looked down because he was being too quiet.

This was after I pulled the blanket off of his head.
Have a wonderful weekend!
