20 months old going on 2

Alex is 20 months old, just shy of turning 2 and he knows it. Although he has been a fabulous sleeper lately he has been a pill during the day. Laura wanted to see his short "older" do. Here are some recent pictures I took of him after his latest haircut at cookie cutters which he royally hated. He is getting bigger and smarter everyday. I am amazed at what he understands and replies to. He is such a stinker one minute and bringing joy to me the next. I have also included a video of him getting a kick out of his Ducky. He has recently figured out how to pull the string himself and let me tell you it's pretty exciting. Have a great weekend, I will be back again soon with more posts to come. Will I ever catch up?

Cookie Cutters

Last night we took Alex to Cookie Cutters for the first time to get his hair cut. It's been awhile since my sister has cut it and with me not seeing her for a few more weeks I knew we had to give in and take him to get it cut. Of course the lady wanted to know if this was his first haircut, I replied no his 8th. She had his sideburns gone before Jas and I noticed... ahh how sad. I guess they will grow back. I thought for sure he would cry when she got out the buzzers but he didn't. He loved sitting in the little car watching Baby Einsteins and received a balloon and sucker when we were all finished.

Food, Family and Fun

At least once a month my family gets together for Sunday dinner. I look forward to spending time together. Last week we celebrated my Mom's birthday ( a little late) and my Nephew In Law ( is that such a word) Clay's birthday. My sister and I decided that a Taco bar sounded tasty. We wanted to try out my new tortilla maker my sister bought for my birthday. Dinner was delicious as usual. For dessert I decided to make a Fruit Pizza. My Mom helped me decorate it and Jason decided to whip up a fruit glaze for the top. Doesn't it look yummy? It must have been okay because there wasn't a crumb left.

After dinner I decided to set up the pool for Alex and Shae to play in. The two of them have so much fun playing together. The rest of the family either enjoyed the sunshine or played Bocce with Clay's new set.

Although Alex was tired from swimming and no nap ( not because I didn't try) it was time for his 4th haircut, yup I said number 4. Aunt Kim gave him a cookie and went to work. She said it was the easiest haircut she has given him because he kept nodding off. Jillian was nice enough to bath him and get him in his jammies after all was done. No pictures this time...my family was nice enough to watch Alex while Jason and I went to see WALL-E. I don't know if I had too high of expectations but I didn't love it. I liked it but won't be dying to see it anytime soon. It may surprise many of you but I am quite the talker. I guess I like my movies to be the same way. There wasn't allot of talking in the beginning and I felt like it dragged at times but overall had a good message. Either way it as nice to take a small break from parenthood to just be a couple. I miss going to the movies with Jason.

Enjoy your 4th of July, I will be back with more pictures soon.
